1. Inspiration from Architecture: The Amalgamation of Lines

Our mood board was a reflection of the essence of architectural elegance. The carefully selected images included a variety of structures, showcasing clean lines, sharp edges, and layered textures. This visual foundation provided us with a clear direction on how to translate architectural aesthetics into wearable art, using our fabrics and techniques to bring these visions to life.

3. Motif Development and Sketching
With our mood board as a guide, we began developing motifs that encapsulated the essence of architecture in abstract forms. 4. Khaka (Stencil) Creation and Fabric Selection
Once our motifs were finalized, we transferred them into khakas, traditional stencils used to outline designs onto fabric. Each motif was carefully transposed onto our chosen fabric – a luxurious Japanese craft fabric, selected for its premium quality and smooth texture. The fabric’s deep black color allowed us to explore a monochromatic contrast, accentuating the intricate details of the handwork and enhancing the visual appeal of the designs.

Each piece was intricately embellished with sequins, round beads, and cutdana, with a focus on precise linework in contrasting black and white tones.
